The duties of the professor concern the development of materials science and technology in distin-guished international and domestic research programs. He or she is responsible for the teaching and development of the education of materials science and technology at basic and post-graduate levels. Additionally, the professor is expected to broaden and strengthen the research profile of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering by connecting into it other nearby research areas of materials technology.

The Faculty of Science of the University of Fribourg/Switzerland (Department of Geosciences) invites applications for a tenured position of a Professor in Human Geography.
The new professor will have access to the Earth Sciences unit's administrative and technical staff (one secretary and two technicians). Assistant’s positions and tutors will be attributed in accordance with the other academic staff.
The professor is expected to develop research and postgraduate education in history and between history and other disciplines at the School of Cultural Sciences, primarily archaeology and the study of religions.
The Professor will be attached to the unit of the Faculty of sciences more adapted to his/her scientific expertise and at the same time he/she will be housed within the inter-faculty Institute for Environmental Sciences (ISE, http://www.unige.ch/environnement) that is active in the construction a number of cross-disciplinary networks at the local, national and international levels, in domains such as climatic change and impacts, energy, surface waters, and urban ecology and sustainability for example. In addition, the Institute hosts the interdisciplinary Master in Environmental Sciences where energy issues form part of the curriculum to which the candidate will contribute. The new Professor is expected to closely interact with the existing research groups on energy issues at the ISE.
