The department is looking for excellent candidates who are dedicated to pursuing leading‐edge fundamental or applied research. The present call for applications covers all areas that fall within the scope of Electronics Research field of Department of Electronics. Special consideration will be given to candidates who represent research fields that complement and support the current research interests of the department. In addition, Department of Electronics has significant funding base from external sources, such as Academy of Finland and Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (TEKES), and therefore the applicants should have skills and potential to productively communicate with funding agencies and industrial companies. Department of Electronics has wide international collaboration network and the applicants are expected to show factual examples of productive international collaboration they have carried out.

The candidates shall have a doctoral level degree on an applicable field. They will be reviewed based on research output, teaching merits and service to the academic, societal and business community. In recruiting on the assistant professor level attention will be paid on future potential in addition to proven merits.
Kliniskt forskningscentrum, Östersunds sjukhus (KFC-Z) omfattar både forskningsstöd (disputerade handledare, statistiker; fördelning av FoU-medel), mottagning för forskningspatienter, medicinskt bibliotek och gemensam miljö med Umeå universitets lektorer inom den regionaliserade läkarutbildningen, studieort Östersund. Studierektorerna för AT- och ST-utbildning är också knutna till KFC-Z.
The Geoscience and Geoengineering department is divided into six research teams which cover most of the applied Earth Sciences fields (geology, geophysics, geostatistics, hydrogeology, hydrochemistry, engineering geology and geomechanics). Research activities are generally multidisciplinary and involve several teams of the department, topics spanning from original and fundamental developments to innovative industrial solutions. The department employs 54 tenured researchers, 34 technicians and about 65 Ph. D. students.
