The department is looking for excellent candidates who are dedicated to pursuing leading‐edge fundamental or applied research. The present call for applications covers all areas that fall within the scope of Electronics Research field of Department of Electronics. Special consideration will be given to candidates who represent research fields that complement and support the current research interests of the department. In addition, Department of Electronics has significant funding base from external sources, such as Academy of Finland and Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (TEKES), and therefore the applicants should have skills and potential to productively communicate with funding agencies and industrial companies. Department of Electronics has wide international collaboration network and the applicants are expected to show factual examples of productive international collaboration they have carried out.

The candidate for the position must have theoretical and practical experience in Rock Engineering. He/she should be used to evaluate Rock stability in tunneling, excavation and slopes, and be able to do risk assessments related to Rock stability methods.

Both positions are tenure track and are initially limited to 7 years. Tenure is envisioned depending on a positive evaluation of the candidate and the successful establishment of a Master program in Health Sciences with specializations in Health Economics and Health Care Management and Health Behavior & Health Promotion. Furthermore the development of research programs funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) or the European Commission’s research framework is desirable.

A permanent full time position as professor/associate professor of Dentistry (Dental Health Promotion) is vacant at the University of Bergen, Department of Clinical Dentistry. The successful candidate will be hosted within the Statistics research group at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and is expected to collaborate closely with colleagues from the Bioinformatics research groups of Ghent University and the Flemish Institute of Biotechnology. The Statistics research group is internationally recognized, primarily for its research on causal inference and robust statistics. It builds on this expertise to develop targeted applied research for innovation in the private and public sector through the consortium Stat-Gent CRESCENDO (www.statgent.be) The primary focus there is on life sciences, the analysis of electronic health records and genetics data. Bioinformatics groups at Ghent University are world-renowned for their expertise in genomics and proteomics, applied to areas of research that have to do with successful aging and sustainable agriculture.
