Research Assistants (PhD Students)

The Universität Regensburg with its over 21,000 students is an innovative and interdisciplinary working university that provides a broad variety of research projects and disciplines for German and foreign students.
At the Chair of Media Informatics in the junior research group „Physical Affordances for Digital Media and Workflows“ led by Dr. Raphael Wimmer we are looking for two

This fulltime position (40,1 hours per week) is initially limited to three years (extension possible under the terms of the WissZeitVG) and will be paid according to civil servant level TV-L E 13, Bavaria.

The research group explores how affordances of classic media (such as books, paper records, sound recording media) may be utilized in digital work processes. • collaborating on the group's research, teaching and internal tasks (also outside your PhD topic)
• supervising student theses related to the group's topics

Your profile:

• great interest, solid basic knowledge, and initial practical experience in one or more of the following topics:
• development of interactive systems (frameworks, window management, interaction techniques, computer vision, …)
• electrical engineering (sensors, microcontrollers, prototyping)
• usability engineering (requirements analysis, prototyping, evaluation)
• commitment to the principles of good practice in research and open science
• good German and English language skills (written and spoken)

We offer:
• the opportunity to pursue an advanced degree (PhD),
