The position is located at Acreo AB in Kista near Stockholm, an area prominent for academic and industrial research. Acreo has employees with high academic competence (50 % of the technical staff has PhD degree or equivalent) and our daily work is performed in an open and collaborative format together with internal and external colleagues. We see challenges as a mean for creating novel solutions for the benefit of our customers. We have a multi-cultural working environment and emphasis is on equality.
A sustainable basis for food, health and environment are among the main themes of research and education of Wageningen University and Research Centre. Within the Bio-molecular Sciences Cluster of the Agrotechnology and Food Sciences Group, six chair groups share their knowledge and skills and collaborate to build educational en research programs on the bio-molecular basis of food, health and environment.
Applicants should have a PhD degree or soon receive one in a relevant scientific field. We are particularly looking for candidates with a proven strong background in either simulations of turbulent flows and experience/interest in large scale numerical simulations, or background in experimental fluid dynamics with focus on data processing. Experience in handling large data sets, and running on parallel computers is advantageous.
The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be to motivate, strengthen and develop GEUS’ research activities within the field of glaciology and the monitoring of the Greenland Ice Sheet. Applicants must master the English language. Applicants not speaking Danish must be prepared to learn Danish at a suitable working level within the first twelve months of employment.
The position is within the Stem Cell Epigenetics Laboratory (SCEL), headed by Professor Philippe Collas. SCEL focuses on the regulation of gene expression in development and stem cell biology. The position is in the fields of molecular/cell biology, cell signaling, gene regulation, epigenetics, and contains a bioinformatics component.
The position is within the Stem Cell Epigenetics Laboratory, which focuses on the regulation of gene expression in the context of development and stem cells. The position lies in the fields of molecular and cell biology, more specifically chromatin assembly, gene regulation and epigenetics, and contains a bioinformatics component.

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Department of Chemistry, invites motivated applicants for a PhD position within the area of organic synthetic chemistry. The position is foreseen filled by August 2012. The planned work will comprise investigations of gold catalysis in organic synthesis, aiming at the development of new gold(I) catalyzed reactions. The project will also include gold catalysis in the preparation of biological active target molecules.
We are now looking forward to employ a new hydrological scientist for long-term cooperative development of a major research field: the development of existing hydrological model codes, both in traditional hydrological models and coupled climate-hydrology systems. You will work on method development, test of new process descriptions, handling of program structures and data flow in model systems, to increase transparency and reproducibility of results and uncertainties. The position is permanent at our Norrköping office, starting 1 September 2012.
We are looking for goal-oriented colleagues, passionate about their works, who like to work both independently and with others. You should be a good communicator, in both spoken and written English, and you should be willing and able to learn Swedish at a working language level within 1 year of starting the position. Your background should include a doctoral degree, which has given you good knowledge in hydrology and the scientific field above. Good knowledge in statistics is a requirement.
The position is part of the Nordic Center of Excellence, DEFROST (“Impacts of a changing cryosphere - depicting ecosystem-climate feedbacks from permafrost, snow and ice”), a Top-level Research Initiative (http://www.toppforskningsinitiativet.org/en). The aim of DEFROST is to understand how climate change induced changes in the cryosphere influence the ecosystem/geosphere processes which directly affect climate. DEFROST seeks to bridge existing gaps between climate modeling, cryospheric science, and Arctic ecosystem science.
The Color Research Group is now inviting applications for a PhD student position. The person appointed will complete his/her PhD studies and research in the group and, in addition to research, the duties include teaching and other departmental tasks. The position involves cooperation with the School of Engineering, Monash University, Sunway Campus in Kuala Lumpur.
You hold a MSc in life sciences and are preferably experienced with insect behaviour, insect physiology, analytical chemistry or molecular biology. You are fluent in spoken and written English. You are highly motivated and eager to contribute to the scientific output of the lab. You have the ambition to pursue a scientific career.
The academic qualifications and teaching experience of applicants will be considered when making the selection. Additional merit will be granted for working outside Finland and other international experience as well as experience in acquiring research funding.
You hold an MSc or PhD in Pharmacy or Engineering, Chemistry or a related field and have a minimum of 5 years of experience within formulation of Solid Dosage Forms, process optimisation, mixing, granulation, compression, coating, capsulation. You are innovative, you work systematically, and are familiar with the basic principles of LEAN. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working with people from different professional backgrounds. As a person you are result-oriented and flexible and you enjoy working in a team with highly motivated people, dedicated to developing break-through products with orally available versions of insulin and GLP-1.
